The Love/Hate Relationship between Transgender People and the Psychotherapeutic and Psychiatric Professions For better or for worse Transgender people are pathologized by the mental health professions. The WPATH Standards of Care require psychotherapy for transitioning and therapists are often seen as gatekeepers inhibiting, rather than facilitating, the achievement of authenticity. Some members of the mental health professions are perceived as being transphobic because they deny the distinction between sexual orientation or paraphilias and gender identity. Other mental health professionals are among our most effective advocates. This seminar will elicit participant experiences with mental health professionals within a framework through which we may better understand why we hate or love our therapists and psychiatrists. Salon A Saturday 9:00 - 10:00

FINDING YOUR INNER BEAUTY When we as trans people decide this is our journey, we tend to go into fast forward mode. We rush to get the surgeries, take the hormones, wear the clothes and make-up. But if your outer beauty is not going the same pace as your inner beauty, you won’t find happiness in the end!

In my workshop I will teach these steps:

STEP ONE: Letting go of doubt
STEP TWO: Putting others worries aside
STEP THREE: Loving thy self

Exercises will be practiced that can be done at home. It’s not a miracle overnight but it’s a start to becoming a better you!

Be the Woman You Are Meant to Be: Natural, Beautiful - Nonsurgical Aesthetic Options Most of us are familiar with laser hair removal. However, in a naturally beautiful woman, there is much more than just having a hairless face and body. The judgment of beauty often includes curvatures of the body as well as complexion and texture of the skin. In this presentation, we will discuss several nonsurgical and noninvasive aesthetic procedures that address skin conditioning and body contouring. These procedures are light-based and have virtually no downtime. Areas addressed will include hair removal, skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, wrinkles reduction, leg veins, and body contouring. When we get to that fork we wonder what is the best path for us to take. A lot of times we want to take the path that will make the people we love happy, and never take the path that our heart tells us. The journey through life should be about following your heart. Tonight, Kennidi will tell her amazing journey through life and the struggles of facing three paths that forked. Her amazing story will be one of inspiration and love.
